THE SCOURGE OF EBOLA-PART 2

EBOLA has 'authoritatively' overtaken AIDS being that it kills faster than AIDS.Between two and twenty one days of contracting the virus, death is imminent. This not withstanding, contracting EBOLA is not a death sentence on anyone as some have been cured of the virus. The fight to contain the spread of the virus is still ongoing in sierraleone, guinea and liberia, the three West African nations affected by this epidemic. Nigeria has been declared EBOLA free by WHO having tenaciously fought and conquered the virus.Ebola is contracted when one comes in contact with the body fluids of an infected person or animal, sweat, saliva, blood, urine, feaces, semen etc. The primary host of the EBOLA virus is said to be the fruit bat. Other animals such as monkeys, baboons are said to also transmit this virus and as such they must be well cooked if they are to be eaten. The EBOLA virus does not die after the infected person dies so don't touch or kiss the corpse. The appropriate quarters should be informed so that the body would be decontaminated and cremated to stem the risk of exposure. In my next post iill talk about our role in stopping the spread of the EBOLA virus.
